		<description>I know, right?  Such a horrible feeling.  I always tell myself that most people are quite understanding, and that I never think less of someone for their poor English skills, so why would anybody else be any different.  I&#039;m a little tricky to convince, however.</description>

		<description>I must say, I hear you on the language fluency front- I&#039;ve been here (Shanghai) barely 18 months and already people are looking at me like I&#039;m an idiot because I&#039;m not fluent (or, hell, even intermediate!). After 6 years in Turkey, I plateau&#039;d at low intermediate and felt constantly embarrassed by this fact, even though my students had often been studying English for far longer, formally, and were at a much lower level than me!</description>
