What’s going on at The Brink

2

It’s been a big couple of days for me. Here’s what’s been going on.

First off, I need to send a huge thank you out to Mike Collins at Exotic Visitors who has devoted a considerable amount of time over the last few days to answering increasingly panicked emails from me.  The new-look page is due in large part in its entirety to his patient and knowledgeable assistance.  He also runs a great page so be sure to check it out.

Second, I’ve had a few other bits and pieces published around the Internet in the last day or so.  Matador Abroad have put up my piece, What to do when you hit a plateau in your language studies, and Pocket Cultures have published Dance and drums at Qoyllur Rit’i.

Also, I’ve just launched a new series, to run over the next six weeks: Adjusting to life as an ex-pat.  I’ll be posting a number of interviews with expats and basically self-analysing myself to death for your entertainment and hopefully my own improved emotional stability, so please get involved, leave me your comments, and if you’re interested in being interviewed or contributing a guest post, contact me at camden [at] brinkofsomethingelse.com

Finally, in a more general “Where in the world is Cam?” sense, I’m currently in Lima – we’re spending truly obscene amounts of money (for a someone used to sleeping in dorms and counting my soles, anyway) fitting out the hostel, although today we’re skiving and heading out for ceviche and a movie before I head back to Cusco tomorrow.  Tomorrow night I’ll be jumping on a bus for Bolivia, although I’m not sure exactly where yet, to renew my visa (it’s definitely time I organise my residency).  Over the next month there’ll be plenty of non-expat related content going up as well, as the June/July Cusco festival season peaks with Inti Raymi and the Virgen del Carmen in Paucartambo.

In other words, don’t tune out!  You can subscribe to the RSS feed up in the right hand corner of the page, or follow me on twitter @camdenluxford.

    …”don't read this blog”…now it's “don't tune out”…make up your mind, Camden. ;]
I like the new look and congrats on getting some traction on the publishing front.

Alright, alright. I was hoping my fickle nature may be construed as endearing but I'll steer more towards consistency in future! Cheers! I like the new look as well – there's a little tuning to be done but it was a much-needed streamlining.
